We woke up on our last full day in Vegas nice and late. We then headed down to the front desk to see about a late check-out, as our flight back home did not leave until 11pm. I let Cin do the talking, since she did such a nice job getting us awesome seats together on the flight out. The lady at the desk said that normal check-out time could be extended until 1pm without charge, but until 6pm would cost a half-day's worth of money. There must have been a jump in cost for this evening, as she quoted $80 for this (more than a full day's worth of our rate) and then told us that she was going to comp that and we could stay until 6pm for free. So that was really nice. After this, we went to the restaurant and had some breakfast. Cin got french toast and I got a combination of eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were excellent and we both enjoyed eating them. Yummmm.
After breakfast, we headed out to the pool area and stayed out there for a good portion of the day. I ended up with a sunburn along most of my chest and arms, which hurt quite a bit. Stupid Jeff not wearing sunblock. :( Around 4pm, we headed back to the room and showered off. We then took our luggage down to the bell desk for them to hold and we headed to the Italian place in Mandalay Place, Giorgio Cafe (TripAdvisor page is here) for dinner, so that my craving for pasta could finally be satisfied. I had a Caesar salad and spaghetti with oil and garlic and Cin got a mixed green salad and macaroni with cheese and bacon. Both were quite good. This place was a good Italian restaurant, with decent but not amazing pasta, and it really hit the spot. After dinner, we went back to the Luxor casino and played Rapid Roulette for a quite. At the collection of tables next to us, there was a series of girls dancing while people gambled, wearing small outfits, which was fun to watch. :) This was the only time we noticed anything like this at the Luxor. When it was time to go to the airport, we went to the bell desk and collected our bags and then decided to put a couple of dollars in the slot machines nearby. My initial $3 won something like $25 and I cashed it out immediately. :)
We had a short taxi ride to the airport (much quicker and shorter than the one to the hotel...) and then relaxed at the airport with some good soft pretzels for snacks. We then boarded the redeye flight back home. I tried to sleep the entire time while Cin read and watched the movie (I don't remember what it was but it did not look very appealing). I got almost no sleep, which was not fun. Anyway, we landed after a decent flight, collected our luggage, and then had to wait about 15 minutes for a shuttle back to our parking lot. This was the first thing about either Dulles Airport or United's airline service that was not good. We usually have horrible experiences with both Dulles and United, but they both did really well on this trip, save this somewhat small, but still very annoying, item. We picked up the car and drove home, in not-so-bad DC rush-hour traffic, and then hit up Eggspectations, our favorite local breakfast place, when we got back home. After a good mean, we headed home and slept for a few hours, to try to make ourselves useful. :)
End of trip. This was a good spring break. Viva Las Vegas!
