14 November 2010: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

We got up at 10.30am, still tired. What a long day previous! We got up, took a shower, and cleaned up the room. Cin went up to the local Dunkin Donuts to get us a small snack while I checked out and picked up the car from the valets. We then headed to MrKeith's house for a post-wedding brunch. A short drive later and we were there, at their house right across the street from Lake Michigan. We went in and visited; MrKeith gave us a great tour of his house, which is awesome and has some really cool features that stem from its construction in the 1920s (including an awesome room with a dirt floor and a big pile of...something...that looked like a great place to led wine age). Pretty sweet. Their home is also right near the sunken wreckage of the Steamer Appomattox, which is apparently a really good SCUBA site...going to need to come back up here to dive this! After a while, some good food and visiting, we headed out with Chris, Tammy, and Shelley, to the Harley Davidson Museum in downtown Milwaukee (their Yelp is here).

The Harley Davidson Museum does a very good job documenting the history of the iconic American motorcycle company and is full with many different bikes from many different points in the company's history. It is a really cool place and very much worth the cost of admission (which is not that expensive).

When done at the museum, we split ways with our group (they had an earlier flight home than we did) and headed out to find a local pizza place. We found it, Zaffiro's Pizza (their Yelp is here), and got some cheesy garlic bread and a pizza to share. The pizza had crazy thin crust; it was very much like a cracker, and it was very, very, good. The garlic bread was really great too. This place was quite tasty and a good local pizza find; highly recommend.

After pizza, we headed to the airport and dropped off the rental car. We checked in for our flight and dropped off the luggage. After confirming the times, and realizing we had three hours until our flight left (ugh), we sat in the Miller Brewhouse in the airport and watched some of the afternoon's football game. I had a Leingenkugel Red Lager beer, which was OK, and a Spotted Cow, which was a Belgium white-style beer and was pretty decent as well. Both were good, but nothing to write home about. We then did a bit of shopping, went through security, and did some reading while waiting for our flight. The flight was uneventful (a bit late, unfortunately), but we soon landed in BWI. Weekend trip over. Best wishes to MrKeith and Rachel for a wonderful marriage...this amazing weekend is an excellent way to start it and both Cin and me very much appreciate being invited and being able to be part of such an amazing event!
